Parenting Anya & Arielle | Parent-Child Quality Time with Kinderhands' Book Box!
7 October 2013

Personally, I favour the idea of tying in a book to a few projects of the same theme together. I feel that with a storyline, it is more meaningful and memorable for the child this way and whatever that their little spongy brains absorbed has a much more lasting effect. I also liked that a lot of thought and effort were put in to prepare the instruction cards. As mentioned earlier on, I have done a handful of craft projects that I sourced on my own with Anya in the past. More often than not, both she and I met with frustrations while executing the projects mainly due to communication breakdowns in letting her comprehend what she needs to do. Here, from what I read to her and the step-by-step picture guide; she could understand fairly well what she was expected to do. Oh, plus bonus points added for training the child to be task-oriented and goal-oriented through competing the projects.

A subscription box designed around children's books, KinderHands' boxes contain a storybook and two to three activities on the same theme that children between three and seven can complete post-reading. Past book themes have covered getting over one's fear of monsters to dental care and dreaming big. Book boxes cost S$44.90 and project boxes - the same activities without the books included - cost S$29.90. Subscriptions start at S$28.90 for a one-month trial to S$490.80 for a year.

Simply Mommie | KinderHands Review And Giveaway

10 September 2013

Similar to other edu-play boxes, KinderHands is a box filled with ready-planned activities for parents to bond with children through learning activities. Besides having activities nicely packed in the box, the KinderHands Book Box includes a book that is specially chosen to match the theme of the box. What I felt made it superior to its competitors in this aspect was that KinderHands made the activities an extension of the book rather than just including a book with the theme of the month.

Cheekie Monkies | Creativity In A Box

13 August 2013

I love how each project came individually packed with detailed photographic instructions and required materials. And I can't fault its convenience factor too. Imagine if I had to brainstorm project ideas, make a mad dash to various stores to buy the materials before finally settling down to do the projects with the monkies! So I am just thankful that KinderHands has eliminated the time and hassle of preparation so that we parents can just focus on the important bit of spending quality time with our kids.

Sakura Haruka | Bub & Me: KinderHands Monsters Theme Edu-Play Kit + {Book Box Giveaway}

23 July 2013

Over the past week, we've explored the Monster Theme Book Box and were pleased with what we found. Lil Pumpkin doesn't just like all things pink and princessy, but she's also a big fan of the "queer". Not sure if many kids love vampires, zombies, werewolves the way this gutsy girl does :P So yes, she did enjoy the monster themed book, "Go Away, Big Green Monster!" and its related activities very much.

Growing Merrily | Product Review - KinderHands Monster Theme Book Box

16 July 2013

What we love about the product

  1. There are photos to guide you through each activity.

  2. The activities are so open-ended.  One bag can be used to learn different things.

  3. The learning definitely covered Kinderhands' purpose.  It includes Fine Motor, Hand-eye coordination, Colour, Counting, Sorting, Shapes, Size, Facial Features, Story Sequencing, Cooking with Tots, Music, etc.

  4. Imagination play is promoted.

  5. Unlike craft works, the activities are not ‘cast in stones’.  We get to play with them every now and then.

  6. The activities don’t stop here.  Follow their blog and gallery for more learning activities using the things included in the bags.
